It seems the most common thing to do is to sit another 10-day course because it’s possible you want to get more practice and go deeper with meditation, but also it’s possible 10-days are hard to come by and you’d rather spend it meditating than serving the course (working). Of course there isn’t a right or wrong way to do it, but be aware that serving may be just as beneficial to your practice as sitting and maybe even more. You will only know when you go serve with an open mind.
Reason’s Why to Serve:
- Humbling experience that also requires a level of surrender
- Seeing how beneficial Metta practice is as a server
- Put the understanding of impermanence into practice in real life situations
